Record Number of Adult Students Expected to “Reach Higher” This Fall

Oklahoma Reach Higher students graduating from Connors State College.

Enrollment is now open at 23 Oklahoma public college and university campuses for an innovative program designed to help working adults complete a degree.

Reach Higher, Oklahoma’s degree completion program, offers two associate degrees and a bachelor’s degree to students who have earned college credit in the past and now want to complete a college degree. Reach Higher graduates take the courses they need to receive the leadership training, communications and business skills they need to get ahead.

“The Reach Higher program is a great educational opportunity for adult students to pursue a college degree on a timeline that better suits their individual needs,” said Chancellor Glen D. Johnson. “This program was developed specifically for working adults, and it allows Oklahomans to realize their dream of a college degree.”

Reach Higher began in 2007, offering a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership at nine regional universities. The degree was developed with the assistance of local businesses and covers a broad variety of areas including business communication, fiscal management, data analysis and understanding the marketplace. On-campus and online class options are available for the eight-week classes, and there are five enrollment periods per year.

Earlier this year, the program was expanded to include an associate degree completion option that offers an Associate in Arts and Associate in Science in enterprise development (general studies or business administration).

After selecting a “home institution,” students work with an adviser to develop personalized schedules and courses of study to meet career goals.

Enrollment is now open for classes beginning in August. For more information, visit www.reachhigheroklahoma.org.
