OK Health Care Workforce Center

A partner of Oklahoma's Reach Higher: DirectComplete program.

Partner Description

The Oklahoma Health Care Workforce Center (OHCWC) is committed to increasing the workforce of registered nurses in Oklahoma and will provide a limited number of scholarships of $750 per year to help with fees, books, materials and, possibly, past educational debt to those who qualify. Funds will be awarded upon verification of qualified applicants by the institutional nursing director at a Reach Higher DirectComplete (RHDC) participating institution until the funds are expended.

The scholarship is available to adult students requiring approximately 15-18 additional credit hours to complete an associate degree in nursing (RN) upon verification by a participating Oklahoma RHDC institution of higher education offering a registered nursing program.

This scholarship is in collaboration with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s Reach Higher DirectComplete (RHDC) program.

Criteria

  • Must be within 75% of completion of the associate degree in nursing at an Oklahoma RHDC institution (Connors State College, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Northeastern A&M College, Oklahoma City Community College, Tulsa Community College or Western Oklahoma State College).
  • Must meet the income limit of less than $75,000 AGI.
  • Must be aged 25-49.

Awards

Scholarship awards will be sent to the institution to be applied to the student’s financial account after verification from the director of nursing at the college offering the associate degree in nursing program. Awards are not made directly to individuals.

As a degree completion scholarship, students are only eligible for one scholarship award, and reapplications will not be considered from previous recipients.

Application

Application reviews will begin June 15, 2020, for fall 2020 scholarship awards.
